Mike de Blois, Owner
Mike has been working within residential construction for 15 years. After living in Scotland, Mike settled in Vancouver where he obtained his red seal carpentry qualification at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Mike draws inspiration from the creative aspects of building and his skillset is driven by a passion for quality craftsmanship and good design. He has a strong ability to embrace and effectively work through the inherent challenges involved with the process of residential projects. He values and is committed to creating a positive and healthy work culture within the company, which extends to his relationship with clients and industry related professionals.
He lives in Etobicoke with his wife and 5 children.
John Killen, Lead Carpenter
In 2010 John moved to Canada from Ireland, where he completed a 4 year program, graduating in 2005 with a QVC qualification in carpentry and joinery. He has over 15 years of experience in various aspects of the construction industry.
John takes pride in the ownership of his work and embraces a hard work ethic. His easy going nature contributes greatly to the positive work environment valued by the Bright design Build team.
Tony Fogarty, Lead Finish Carpenter
Born and raised in Japan, Tony moved to Canada in 2011 and since then has been working in residential construction.
Tony is an exceptional talent in furniture making, woodworking and design, which is to the betterment of Bright design Builds projects. He has an insatiable hunger for learning new things, therefore he spends a lot of his time outside of work researching and perfecting his craft.
Damien O’Malley, Skilled Labourer
Damien moved to Canada from Ireland in 2009, where he graduated from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology with a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering.
Damien’s engineering background is a valuable asset to the Bright design Build team and its projects. He is inspired by the problem solving aspects of the creative process and the learning and growth that comes with this.
